BIBLE READING: PSALM 134
And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron’s sons. Exodus 28:1
The priestly office enables you minister to God and become His minister unto men. The foundation of the priestly ministry is our redemption where in God had chosen us in advance through Christ Jesus that we will do good works according to Eph. 2:20. However, this good work doesn’t start with what we do for men or creation but what we do unto God. While the strength of the kingly ministry depends on the priestly office, the strength of a priestly office depends on the quality of what a priest does before God.
God said to Moses Aaron and his sons are to be consecrated to minister unto Me in the priestly office. A priest ministers unto God before ministering for Him. A famous writer once said “he that kneels before God will stand before men”. If you truly minister unto God then He will impregnate you with something to deliver unto men. “Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.” Acts 13:1-2
How do you minister unto God? Ministering unto God encompasses the totality of what we do which focuses on God and not us, our situation or others. What are those things we do before Him that are exclusive to Him; Praise, Worship, your sacrifice etc. When last was God the focus of your prayers? When last did you spend time loving Him and lavishing your gifts on Him like the woman with the jar of alabaster oil? When last did you extol His greatness?
The first assignment or calling of a priest is unto God not men or circumstances or even the society.
Pick up your bible and minister to God with Psalm 104. Read it gently and aloud to Him with an attitude of reverence and worship
