For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.
But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him?
Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:
Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
– Hebrews 2:5-16
You must note that not only do you have dominion over creation; you also have dominion over death. The Bible says that seventy years is our minimum portion. You have the power to resist and reject death if it comes knocking before this stipulated minimum age. The scripture makes us understand that seventy years is the minimum and you can also live up to 120 years. “The days of our lives are seventy years; And if by reason of strength they are eighty years…” (Ps. 90:10). If the person death attempts to take away has not reached the kingdom minimum age, summon him back. Revelation 6:8 makes it clear that death is a spiritual personality. “And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death…” This reality includes death among the things we have been empowered to bind, reject, uproot and cast out. “Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matt. 18:18).
The death of Jesus on the cross delivered us from the bondage of Satan, sin, sickness, poverty, and death. “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews 2:14-15).
The devil has no right to snatch away your life or the life of your loved ones prematurely. He can only do so if you allow him. Resist him steadfastly and he will flee from you.
- Reject and dismantle the devil’s plots against your life and that of your loved ones.
CONFESSION: Upon the cross, my Saviour conquered sin and death. I have dominion over them, and over the world.
