In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.
He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.
The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.
– Proverbs 14:26-35
It is amazing how people search far and wide for success and distinction while overlooking the very place where God is waiting for them to bless them. People have devised all manners of ways they consider to be shortcuts to success and achievement. But they end up realising that those short cuts actually cut short their progress and often times, cuts off their lives.
The shortcut to success and achievement prescribed in the Bible is Service and Consecration unto God. Whether at micro or macro levels, righteousness and obedience to God pay immeasurable dividends. “Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people” (Prov. 14:34).
The Lord Jesus Christ dropped several nuggets that could be termed the keys to the abundant life. In John 14:12-13, He said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do.” He made a similar promise in John 15:16, “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.” Again He said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
The conclusion we draw from the passages rendered above is as follows: Your Shortcut To Abundance Is To Embrace The Lord And Serve Him With All Your Heart. “And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water” (Exodus 23:25).
