BIBLE READING: HEBREWS 5:1-3
For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins: Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity. And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins. Hebrews 5:1-3
One of the major assignment of the high priest is to offer the blood from the animal sacrifice as atonement for the sins of the people. Today, as a New Testament priest; you also do the same by offering the blood of Jesus on behalf of the lost. A priest stands before God on behalf of men.
What we use in obtaining the mercy of God on their behalf and getting them saved is the constant offering of the blood over their lives before God. The offering of the blood holds back judgment while still opening the door of salvation unto the person in question. As a priest, you are an Intercessor. You must know how to offer the blood for your own sins, for the sins and salvation of others especially the lost.
Our ministry of reconciliation does not begin with talking to men about God. It begins with talking to God about men and this is one of the ways to make it happen. It is the blood of Jesus that speaks before the Father on our behalf in the court of heaven. But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: Heb 9:7
The greatest work of the blood in redemption is salvation from sin. The major thing Jesus came to handle was SIN. Let your priesthood be strong enough to deal with sin in the life of people.
Look around you today and find people whose salvation has been a burden to you. Begin to plead the blood of Jesus Christ on their behalf fervently.
