IDENTIFYING AND MAGNIFYING YOUR MINISTRY

Beloved, whenever you hear the word "Ministry," what comes to your mind? For many of us, we think of the pastor behind the Pulpit, the choir ministering in song or the Sunday Morning Service. But there is a Truth that ought to encourage our hearts: Ministry is so much bigger than that. Ministry is not confined to what happens on a platform. It is the Way we allow the Holy Spirit to use us to reveal Jesus to the people around us. It happens in our homes, in our offices, in our schools and in our neighborhoods. It happens anytime we show kindness to a difficult coworker, when we work with Integrity or when we speak a word of encouragement to someone who is struggling. God did not save us to be spectators; He saved us to be His Witnesses (Acts 1:8). He has called us to reign on Earth as His ambassadors, fulfilling our Royal Roles as kings and priests unto God (Rev. 1:6; 5:10). Our highest Responsibility is simply to testify about Jesus so that through our lives and our words, others might encounter Him and be saved. This Calling is not for pastors alone but for every genuinely born-again child of God.

Now here is something we must not overlook. Beyond being a Light in a dark world, every Christian believer carries a Sacred Assignment called the Ministry of Reconciliation. The Holy Scriptures say "He has committed to us the Message of Reconciliation" (2 Cor. 5:19). That means God Almighty Himself has entrusted us with the Glorious Task of bringing people back into a Right Relationship with Him. This is not optional. It is not reserved for the so-called Super-Spiritual. It is a Core Part of our Identity in Christ. Our Lord Jesus made this crystal clear in His Final Words before He ascended to Heaven: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you"(Matt. 28:19-20). And He gave us this Beautiful Promise: He will be with us always, even to the Very End of the Age. That Promise was not just for the First Disciples; it is also for you and me. We are the Fruit of their Labour and now we are called to continue the Work. Through our words, our actions and the Power of the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, we carry on this Vital Mission right where the Lord has placed us.

Think about where you spend most of your waking hours. For many of us, it is the Marketplace, our workplaces, our businesses, our schools and our communities. This is not by accident. This is where God has strategically positioned you (Ecc. 9:11). The Marketplace ought to be one of the most Powerful Outlets for our Ministry. But sadly, many Christian believers focus only on earning their salaries and completely overlook the Precious Harvest of souls standing right next to them. We become so occupied with deadlines, meetings, and targets that we forget the Eternal Destinies of the people we interact with every single day. The people you work with are not just colleagues or customers. Many of them are lost and they desperately need the Salvation that is found in Jesus Christ. And here is the Beauty of it: The Marketplace gives you Unique Access to those who may never step foot inside a Church Building or Auditorium. God expects you to be His Channel and His Ambassador to reach them. Your Spiritual Life cannot be separated from your work life. They are one and the same in the eyes of our Father.

Our Lord Jesus Himself showed us how this works. He did not wait for people to come to the Temple. He went to them. He met fishermen by the seashore and called them to become fishers of men (Matt. 4:19). He took their ordinary occupation and transformed it into Extraordinary Ministry. Consider Daniel in Babylon: He served with such Excellence and Unwavering Integrity in a pagan government that kings could not help but acknowledge the Living God (Dan. 1:17-20; 6:3-5). Consider Joseph in Egypt: He was a slave, then a prisoner and eventually became Prime Minister. In every situation, he remained Faithful and his life became such a Powerful Testimony that a mighty ruler recognized the Hand of God upon him (Gen. 41:38-40). That is our Standard, beloved. We are called to be deeply Spiritual and yet maintain the Highest Level of Professionalism and Integrity. Your Excellence in your work, your honesty, your compassion and your consistent character are all Powerful Tools for Ministry. They open doors for Divine Conversations. They demonstrate the Reality of Christ living within you. So let your Light shine so brightly in your workplace that others are drawn to the Source; our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
